Its purpose is to determine the category of the book in terms of the narration style, not the content. In other words, the narrator’s reading abilities should align with the book’s category. We have divided the reading styles into five different types, and we conduct a test for each narrator to see which category suits them best. When we receive a book, we analyse its category and then match it with the appropriate narrator who has the right reading style for it.
Of the Arabic language. We have three levels of vocalization depending on the narrator’s proficiency. The first level is when the narrator is highly skilled, and we don’t adjust the vocalization at all. The second level is partial vocalization, which we apply if the narrator needs a bit of help. The third level is full vocalization, used when the narrator is of intermediate skill, not weak, because vocalization is a complex matter in Arabic and can lead to mistakes in the recording if not done properly.
There are certain words that may require specific reading styles, the most important of which are names. A name might have multiple pronunciations, or there could be non-Arabic words that the narrator needs to know how to pronounce, like city names or people’s names. The purpose of special casting is to determine the correct pronunciation for these non-Arabic words and both Arabic and foreign names.
This takes place in studios equipped with very modern technology that meets the client’s requirements. The narrator enters the studio with a director and a sound engineer, and the recording of the book is done, possibly in multiple sessions if the book is lengthy, with the goal of producing the audiobook recording.
We have individuals who have been previously tested for this task, and their job is to compare the written text with the audio recording and identify any discrepancies. If there are any errors, the book is sent back to the studio for the narrator to re-record those parts, making sure to maintain the same mood, tone, and pace as in the original recording.
The purpose of this stage is to evaluate the recording and fix any technical errors that might be present, such as managing breathing sounds, adjusting volume levels, and other technical aspects of the recording. The goal is to produce the raw material that we’ll rely on for the final product. At the same time, once the raw material is finalized, the book is exported in the format requested by the client, whether it’s MP3, WAV, or any other format. The purpose of keeping the raw material is that if any issue arises in the future, we can always rely on the original raw material for any re-exports.

We always keep an archive of the book for a long period of time. For instance, it’s now 2025, and we still have clients from 2018 who may need some corrections or a re-send of their book. We always preserve both the raw version and the mastered version for as long as possible, so that if any issues arise or any client requests something years later, we can always accommodate them. The narrators we work with speak in Modern Standard Arabic only. There’s an issue if a regional accent from the narrator’s country slips into the reading, as listeners might find it off-putting. That’s why we conduct very rigorous tests, and our narrators are extremely professional, ensuring that no regional accent appears in the reading. This way, we maintain a purely Modern Standard Arabic that is accessible to all Arabic-speaking audiences. If we were to use a local accent, we would risk alienating listeners from other Arab countries.
